He holds a B.A. in English from UCLA, an MFA from USC, and is currently enrolled in the 2026-2027 class of the Professional Program in Screenwriting at UCLA. The screen adaptation of his novel The Bear Who Broke the World was selected as an Academy Nicholl Fellowships Semifinalist in 2023.

Justin is often found engaging in spirited discussions about books, movies, and TV shows around the greater L.A. area. Look for him in your favorite movie theater, bookstore, or coffee house and he’ll be happy to share an opinion or two (or three) with you.
